International Co-Curricular Experience
About
These international experiences allow institutions to organize short-term trips for students. They can incorporate co-curricular learning (cultural, history, environment, etc.), or academic experiences. As students travel with experienced staff and or instructors, they obtain immediate and tangible learning outcomes.
Type

International cultural experience (non-credit): Examples include attending cultural events, spending time at a national park, visiting art exhibitions, visiting healthcare community services, etc.

International academic experience (credit): Examples include working with students from a local university, participating at a workshop, doing a museum tour, etc.
Learning Approach

Implicit: Initiatives where the participation of students provides rich context for learning intercultural skills. There is little involvement from faculty members.

Explicit: Initiatives where faculty members are directly involved in pedagogical planning and learning outcomes of the international experience (students normally receive a credit).
